A Winter of Solidarity: Paying Tribute to André Huneault’s Exceptional Commitment

As the cold sets in and needs become increasingly urgent within our society, union solidarity takes on its full meaning. In this spirit of mutual aid and sharing, the Teamsters Canada Foundation made a concrete gesture this week.

Andrée Bélanger, Director of the Foundation, accompanied by Pierre-André Blanchard, President of Local 931 and Foundation Administrator, as well as Stéphane Skelling, Business Agent at Local 931, gathered for a special occasion. Together, they donated a significant quantity of warm clothing, including hundreds of toques, scarves, and mittens, to a man whose generosity is matched only by his dedication.

That man is André Huneault. A Teamsters member for many years, André works at Purolator and dedicates himself daily to his brothers and sisters as an Assistant Shop Steward. However, his commitment does not stop at the workplace. André is the founder of Le P'tit bicycle bleu, an organization that helps thousands of people every year. Thanks to his hard work, he distributes meals and clothing to those in greatest need, bringing comfort and dignity to the less fortunate.

What André accomplishes on his personal time is simply extraordinary. He perfectly embodies the values of brotherhood and social justice that are dear to us. He is a true example of dedication to a noble cause, a model we should all look to for inspiration to build a better world.

We are honoured and grateful to count André Huneault among our members. On behalf of all Teamsters Canada members, we wish to thank him from the bottom of our hearts for his unwavering commitment to the community.

Thank you, André, for making a real difference.
