Teamsters Canada Foundation Makes $10,000 Contribution to Le Parados Women’s Shelter
The Teamsters Canada Foundation, in close participatory collaboration with the Comité d'actions féministes, is proud to announce a $10,000 donation to Le Parados. This contribution will help furnish a new housing unit, while allowing some flexibility in how the funds are used.
The cheque was presented to Ms. Catherine Ménard, Executive Director of Le Parados, by François Laporte, President of Teamsters Canada and the Teamsters Canada Foundation. They were accompanied by Sylvie Reed, President of the Women’s Action Committee of Teamsters Québec.
Le Parados provides shelter, support, and guidance to women victims of domestic violence and their children. The organization offers a safe refuge, counselling, and transitional housing to help families rebuild their lives with dignity and peace of mind. Through its human and proactive approach, Le Parados plays a crucial role in combating violence and preventing its impact on women and children.
The Teamsters Canada Foundation supports communities and causes that embody the values of solidarity and mutual aid. It supports initiatives that improve the lives of workers and their families, including community programs and assistance to frontline organizations.
